In a couple of days, we will once again embark on the adventure we call high school.  This will be my 24th first day of school as a teacher, and for some of you it will your first day of high school.  Rest assured that the band & color guard program includes many upperclassmen who will help you get started on the path to success.

Now here's the "good" news - on Monday, the HMA will be participating in the First Day of School Pep Rally.  We will perform in the Main Gym Quad (same place as last night), along with the cheer team and ASB.  The pep rally begins at 7:15 AM, so our call time is 6:30 AM.  [From the Pit, only Kripa and Melissa are required for this event.]  For this event, please wear a RED shirt and pants.  Red band shirts are preferred, but any red shirt will do just fine, and you must wear close-toed shoes.  All members of the HMA will be excused to be tardy to their 1st period class.  The really good news is that, by arriving early, you will avoid all of the traffic getting onto campus.

We also begin our regular rehearsal schedule on Monday, so all students must bring their water bottle, PE clothes, proper footwear, and possibly a hat and sunglasses.  Also, be sure that you bring lunch, because you will need energy for rehearsal.  We will dismiss promptly at 6 PM in the Band Room, and all members should be picked up at the "Band Gate" just outside the room.

Have a great rest of your weekend, and please get to bed early tomorrow night.

 Go For Greatness!
